Practical Ways to Help Loved Ones
Josiah's Journey Our Story
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

2 Corinthians 1:3-4"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Having personally gone through the pain of losing two children, Leslie and Stephan have been called to help comfort others dealing with loss. With practical real life experience and a desire to build relationships they are paying forward the comfort to others that God has given them.

Leslie and Stephan DeLorenzo reside in the small historic town of Madison, Indiana with their two daughters Sofia and Allie.

We understand why you may feel this way. Know that it is normal and you are not alone in feeling like God would be against you. For a time I thought God hated me and that he took my son Josiah from me. God is for you, He is not against you. I would encourage you to read through the book of Job in the bible. Sin entered this world through man, God intended perfection and life without loss as he demonstrated in the Garden of Eden. – Stephan

Tell them the truth. Tell them about Heaven and how Jesus will be taking care of them and loves them very much. We recommend obtaining the book “Heaven is for Real” for older children and “A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids” for younger children. Remember that depending on the age every child will react differently.

We have a set of resources available that give you practical advice and tips on how to treat someone dealing with loss. Find this section on our website and use these tools as a guideline and direction to loving them.
